I got this to put bluetooth and aptx on my old stereo that didnt have it. You gotta have a phone that can do aptx to use that feature, like some of the fancy samsung, htc, or maybe sony phones. To be honest, bluetooth these days is pretty alright so you might not even need aptx. But i noticed when i connect my smartwatch to my phone, the sound gets bad unless everything is aptx. Anyway, im happy with this receiver. It does what i needed and it does it good.

Fospower keep asking me to write a review, so here we go: i got this a few months back to make my old sound system work so i can play tunes from my phone on the big speakers. I got 3 different bluetooth thingies and this one is kinda alright. It needed those rca stereo inputs and a jack, just in case. It gets power from the audio system’s ac outlet with a 5v usb thing. Came all in one box. It works fine once you get it connected. The sound is pretty good up to like 12 feet away or across a big room if there’s nothing in the way. It plays all stuff, even phone calls. So if your phone is running the show at a party, you know what happens. Better to use an ipad or laptop instead. You can turn the volume up or down on your phone or use the 2 buttons on the thing. All kinds of devices like androids, iphones, ipads, they all eventually figured out how to connect to it after a bit of a struggle. I don’t know about the nfc stuff cause i don’t know how to use it and not sure if my phones can do that. Like someone said before, you gotta keep it turned on all the time if you want it to reconnect after it loses power or if you’re the type who turns off your amp. You gotta physically press and hold a tiny button to turn it back on. Some might like that but for others like me, it’s a hassle. I wish fospower had a switch to flip it on or off or set it to come on by itself instead of having to hold down the button. I got another bluetooth receiver in my car that turns on and off by itself and connects every time no problem. The buttons look nice where they are, but after using it for a bit, it would be better if they were on top so the thing stays put. If the phone goes out of the room or behind 2 walls, the signal starts to cut out. That’s expected with bluetooth. If it loses the connection, the fospower tries to reconnect and makes this annoying beep sound every now and then. That bugs other people in the house if you leave with your phone still connected. Make sure to disconnect your device before you head out. Also, i lost the paper user manual and couldn’t find it on the fospower website, so i had to check with some youtubers to figure out how to pair it again. Also, heads up that fakespot.com says the reviews for this product are mostly fake. So watch out for that.

Good sound, great bluetooth works.

The sound quality is better when you hook up an iphone with the rca output on this receiver compared to plugging it straight into the amp’s aux rca. It’s cool to hear audio confirmations for power and connections. The only bad part is the on/off button is tough to find and hard to see.

This small bluetooth receiver is really cool and it sets up fast. I didnt have any problems connecting it with all the phones and tablets we got at home. Its real small so it dont take much space no matter where you put it. Its got lots of different connections so you can use it all over the house which is awesome. Im gonna use it for my christmas lights outside this year to play music. Then im gonna move it inside to connect to our home theater so we can listen to music without any wires.

No battery and annoying noises

I got this thing and setting it up was pretty quick cause it hooks up to bluetooth fast with nfc. It gotta be plugged in all the time cause it dont got its own battery which i really dont like so i wont give it 5 stars. You need an extra amp too. I hate that it always needs to be plugged in. Also, i noticed when nothing is playing there is this super annoying noise, kinda like that buzz you hear when a phone is too close to a radio. Even the bass on my phone sounds better than this thing. So i took off another star.

I finally found something that does what it says. I hooked it up to my old but still good 5.1 receiver to turn it into a bluetooth system. Just plugged it into the aux with the cables that came with it, both rca and 3.5mm jack, and it started working right away. I can use it from 30 feet away and the sound is still sharp and clear. But i wouldn’t use this for bluetooth headphones cause it looks weird being a bit bigger than a hockey puck and awkward to carry. Also, it flashes a blue light every few seconds when its on. This might be annoying if its next to your bed in a bedroom, but its in my living room so it dont bother me.

I really like this thing cause it got all the stuff it said it would. When i got it, it had some small damage on it right from the start. I dont really mind it much cause i dont look at it too much. The best part is the light ring that glows in the dark, so you cant really see the damage then. The sound it makes is kinda weird sometimes, like some sounds are too loud and it makes the high sounds crack a bit. But its okay for now cause i just use it in my car which dont have bluetooth.
