Its kinda confusing to pick between two program times. Like if i set pgm 1 to start at 4am and stop at 9pm, and then pgm 2 from 6am to 6pm, i dont know how to change them when i need to. Maybe i want pgm1 for a couple months. Switching between them without messing up the times is tricky. I wanna be able to go from program 1 to program 6 easily. The instructions dont help at all. How do i do this? its not clear.

Setting 2 program times in a day after setting one

We tried to use this timer for lighting our christmas tree from 4 in the afternoon to 1 after midnight. It didnt work right so we had to set it to shut off at 11:59 in the night and then start again for one hour from midnight to 1 in the morning. This thing only lets you set the times in order from earliest to latest in the day. Like, you cant set an afternoon time first and then a morning time as your second choice. It wont pay attention to the second one if its earlier in the day than the first. To fix this, you gotta set your first program to the earliest time you want it on and off, and then do your second time for later in the day. You dont have to erase anything to do this. Our first setup was from 4 pm to 11:59 pm. To have the lights on in the morning, we changed the 4 pm to 6 am, and 11:59 pm to 9 am. Then we set a new program 2 from 4 pm to 11:59 pm. Figuring this out took us all afternoon. Hope this makes sense.

The instruction book for setting up the timer was super confusing. I tried hard to understand how to adjust the time and schedule the on and off for my device but it was just too hard. I got so frustrated, i just gave up, packed the two timers i bought and returned them right back. If you enjoy solving tough puzzles like crosswords or rubik’s cubes, maybe you’ll like figuring this out. But for me, i got better stuff to spend my time on!

Good but had to reset it

It was working fine for like 8 months and then one day it just reset by itself. I had to look up the manual again to figure out how to set it up and fix the time. Seems like other people had this problem too. I picked this one cause it got two outputs and the plug goes on the top, not the bottom, which is better for where i gotta plug it in.

Once you figure out how to set them up, these timers are awesome, just what you need

This is a digital timer that has lots of days and time choices. It got 10 light programs you can set to turn on and off at all kinds of weird times. This is good if you not home a lot cause it makes it look like someone is there. If lights turn on and off at the same time every day, a thief who is watching your place might notice. I use one timer to keep a light on all the time, and another timer i set for 6 different times to switch on and off through the day. It does what i need real good. It was kinda hard to figure out how to use at first, but after that, you dont really need anything else from a timer like this.

It work good once you figure out the time set up. Its not as easy to use as some other ones i tried. Having two outlets that are grounded is useful tho.

I got three of these things over time. The first two i got are still working awesome. But the new one i picked up, it keeps forgetting its settings every month. And no, it aint coz of the power or anything. Like i said, the old ones? they’re still good.

Old lady vs timer instructions

I think the instructions for setting up the timer got it wrong in step 7. It says to press up or down but actually you need to press both at the same time to quit the setup. Using the 12 hour format made it less confusing for me. The first couple of tries didn’t set the time right. Also, picking all 7 days was tricky - for step 2, i had to keep pressing up (or down) and look at the top to see which days were showing, then hit set. I hooked it up to an extension cord to set it up. Not sure if that was needed after it got power. One annoying thing is if you mess up a setting, you gotta reset everything and start over. Am i doing something wrong? besides that, the timer’s working like i wanted now. Just hope i don’t have to mess with the settings again!

Kinda random.

It work fine and setting it up isnt too hard, cause im an engineer. But the thing i dont like much is how random it acts. I thought random meant it would start or stop at times kinda close to what i set, like if i set it for 6 pm, it could go off between 5 and 7. But no, it just does whatever, like starting at 3 am sometimes.

This thing runs on electricity!

Some folks think its tricky to set up but it was easy for me. I live where its real cold, so i bought two of these. I use one for switching my electric fireplace on and off when its morning or night. The other one i use to heat up my jeep with a small heater before i go to work, like 30 minutes early. I also just moved houses and it kept all its settings even though it was unplugged for a few days. Its a good purchase. Im thinking about getting another one for the lights in my fish tank. The only bad part is if you plug in two things, they gotta run at the same times. You cant make them run at different times.
